KONY 2012

So last night right before I went to bed I checked facebook on my blackberry...All of my friends were posting this video so I decided to watch it. After this 27 minute video I learned some incredible things. I learned how one person could adversely effect thousands, and I learned that one person could change this. Please, If you have the time, sit down and watch this video.

Just sharing this video with your friends will help the cause. To think how little we know of these countries who are suffering so much is hard. I think the more people know about these injustices, the more difference it will make.





Mardi Gras

Ce n'est pas mardi gras aujourd'hui

SO I know today is NOT Mardi Gras but it happens to be one of my favorite holidays!

My dad went to NOLA for work and was able to see the Muses and Chaos parades. I love the colors of Mardi Gras and I have always wanted to go to New Orleans and see the parades. My dad brought home a TON of beads and plenty of stories.

Doesnt it look like so much fun? Lent is starting and Im thinking to give up soda...It will be very hard for me because I love diet coke and sprite but I am going to stick with water, tea, coffee, and other non carbonated beverages. It will be interesting to see how long this lasts. I am usually not very good at these things..oh well..

So I havent posted in a while and there are many reasons why...

but I am just going to give an update on what has been going on since my last post. I have been patiently waiting to hear from TCU but of course recently in the news that have been recieving some bad press. Not so great news and its helping me decide where I want to go next year. Nevertheless, I will visit the school anyway. Clemson is still a top pick and the academic scholarship really is tempting...

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY

the day before valentines day I went to a fashion show that I get to go to every year..

I am a junior hostess and the fashion show is given for the American Heart Associations Women's Board. The event is called An Affair of the heart. It is a wonderful luncheon and a lot of very well known people attend. My job was mainly to help collect donations and show people around. The fashion show this year was for Saks Fifth Avenue Best of Spring

The event was held at the JW Marriott downtown and the Marriotts are very generous for this event. The Marriotts actually live in my neighborhood and I have seen them many times while walking my dog. But anyway..the event also features a raffle which had some incredible prizes

3) Washington Capitals club seats

4)Nationals Presidents box seats

5)Wardrobe cleansing

6) teeth cleaning/ laser whitening

and many more...

All in all a very successful day and I think that Valentines Day is a great day to celebrate the heart. No, I didnt have a Valentine today but I think if you care about someone it should be everyday that you tell them how you feel...

ACCEPTANCE

yesterday evening I had the wonderful pleasure of being accepted to Clemson University!!!

I am not sure that I am going, however, they offered me an out of state scholarship that was very generous....

SO if I did end up at Clemson I would need to load up on some swag...

I recently bought a few good books on my kindle. They all generally have the same theme of how to be preppy, classy, etc. Some are more entertaining than others, and some are more basic but they were all great.

How to be Hepburn in a Hilton World

(really cute cover I know)

This book is one for those who know their basic manners but need to brush up on the less known ones. It is written very well and is very clear and organized.

Classy.

This book is for people who want to change their life from trashy to classy. For those who never had the opportunity to learn proper manners and rules of dressing. It is written very well with plenty of witt.

I wrote this down in my room just so I can be reminded of it everyday and try and live by it. I believe it is really important to raise your children this way so that they can be successful in everything that they do. Because someone who can uphold this can be successful and prosperous in virtually any situation. Preppy isnt just clothes. And you dont have to be stuck up and snobby like some are. But you can be bright, happy, loving, polite, and welcoming. What a great way to live..don't you think?

New Semester New You?

Ok So I am officially a SECOND SEMESTER SENIOR!!!

And you know what that means....

(just kidding I still have to study)

But still! I am really excited to be that much closer to college. I hear back from my top two choices in about two weeks and of course after that it will be much easier to slack off.

DORM ROOM STUFF

Ok so I know that I dont know where I am going yet...but...I still have picked out what I want in my dorm. I found this great seller on etsy.com who does the cutest stuff and great for dorm rooms.

Ok and this next idea I didnt come up with myself but I thought it was really cute! I cant remember what blog I saw this on but I definently need it. My wall on my dorm is going to be all black and white photos. This must be included and here are a few pictures I want on the wall.

Since I am definently going to school down south I doubt I will have a problem finding another preppy girl who doesnt mind my insanity. UGH typing all this is getting my SO EXCITED FOR COLLEGE!!!
